The "Cowrie Shell" Collection
I fell in love with the "sedie" when I was 9 years of age during a trip to the museum in Ghana. It was here that I learnt the the name “cedi” was derived from the word “sedie” meaning cowrie, which was used as a form of currency and to this day, the currency in Ghana is still referred to as the "cedi".
From that love, I've decided to create a collection of curated cowrie pieces. Inspired by tradition, touched and handcrafted in the Caribbean.
